The introduction of Floating Ball Valve


Floating Ball Valve has a floating ball without fixed axis. Under the pressure of medium, the ball can have certain displacement and tightly push on the seal surface of exit, which ensures the seal of outlet.
According to diverse using demands, based on the shell material, Floating ball valve can be divided into normal carbon steel series such as WCB and A105, Stainless Steel series such as 304 and 316, low temperature series such as LCB and LCC, Sulphur resistance series, etc.
Floating ball valves are used for various pipelines of different pressure and used to cut off or connect the medium in pipeline. When choosing different material, it can be applied to many kinds of medium, such as water, steam, oil products, liquefied petroleum gas, natural gas, coal gas, nitric acid, acetic acid, oxidizing medium, urea, etc.
Floating ball valve has simple structure and good sealing, but all the pressure of medium transfer to the sealing ring of exit. So whether the sealing ring material can stand the pressure from the medium must be considered. When suffering higher pressure, the ball will appear to have displacement. This structure is generally applied in low and middle pressure ball valve.
The body of floating ball valve has two seat sealing rings and a ball with hole clamped between them, the diameter of the hole is equal to the inner diameter of the pipeline, called Full bore ball valve. The diameter, slightly less than the inner diameter of the pipeline, called reduced bore ball valve. The ball is free to rotate in the sealing rings of seat by means of stem. When opened, the ball’s hole is in line with the diameter of pipe, ensuring the weakest medium resistance for the pipe. When the stem rotated at 1/4 circle, the ball’s hole is perpendicular to the gallery of valve. Through the preload and pressure of medium which are added to the two sealing rings of the seat, tightly push the ball to the sealing ring of seat at exit end and ensure the completely sealing of valves. This kind ball valve is single face forced sealing.
The hard sealing way of ball and seat is completely metal to metal sealing way. in order to ensure the reliable seal in various temperature and pressure, According to the user's different operating conditions and requirements, a variety of advanced sclerosis technology for ball and seat can be used, including the supersonic spraying, Ni-based spray welding, surface special hardening, hard alloy spray welding and the high strength and high hardness ceramic materials, etc. the surface hardness of ball and seat can generally achieve above HRC60and highest above HRC74. The material of sealing face can bear the temperature up to 540 ℃and highest to 980 ℃. The combination strength of material can reach to10000 PSI. The material of sealing face also has good friction resistance, impact resistance, etc. Hard sealing ball valves can be applied in most harsh working conditions
